Dear Ms. Mathiesen:
This letter will serve to confirm the understanding of the City of Bozeman with respect
to your donation of the sculpture Sacajawea. By signing in the area indicated for your
signature below, you indicate that you agree to the understanding as described. Two
copies have been included, please keep one and sign and return the other.
It is understood that the sculpture is donated as the result of the efforts of the informal
organization known as The Friends of Sacajawea to raise money for a sculpture to be
errected on North Seventh Avenue in Bozeman. The sculpture is donated by the artist,
Pat Mathiesen, to the City of Bozeman on behalf of The Friends of Sacajawea for the
Sculpture Park located on North Seventh Avenue. It is also understood that the
sculpture is intended for the centerpiece mound at the Sculpture Park site, and should
it become necessary to move the sculpture for any reason, the artist and The Friends
of Sacajawea shall be contacted and consulted with respect to the need for the move
and the determination of an appropriate site should a move be approved.
