Basement Fire Sprinkler System
Dear Dan:

After our meeting this morning 'pertaining to the fire sprinkler
system for the basement of the City Hall, I submit to you the
following conditions.' for the sprinkler system:
1- The sprinkler system shall be hydraulically designed for
the operation of four sprinkler heads using the water
service that is presently in the basement of the city
Hall. You will note that this hydraulic calculation will
have a source in the existing janitor's room which is
3/4" copper coming directly off of the main water line in
the str.eeto We are also considering a parallel
connection to the existing 1-1/4" copper domestic water
line located nearby.
2. An additional set of hydraulic calculations will be made
to adequately size this system and comply with NFPA 13
requirements for a light hazard occupancy 0 This
calculation,~ill assume a future connection to the city
water supply in the basement of the fire station in the
main mechanical room. This connection will be made ahead
of the domestic water line val~es.

3. The worst set of hydraulics will be used to size the
system 0

4. Materials for this system will be CPVC pipe and fittings.
The system will have a combination of exposed and
concealed pipes.

Based upon the above criteria, we will expect that the probable
cost of the system will be below $10,000.00. Associated
Construction Engineering, Inco will design a system which complies
with the above design criteria. We will issue the contract
drawings and specifications to fire protection contractors for
estimates, and we will inspect the completed installation for
compliance to the contract documents for a fee of lOt of the fire
sprinkler contract.
Your signature at the bottom of this letter will signify to us your
acceptance of the conditions, and we will proceed for a timely
completion of this project upon receipt of a signed copy of this
letter.
