Brown - Westland Lofts ProjectFrom:Marilee Brown To:Shawn Kohtz Cc:Agenda; acarter@chengineers.com; Griffin Nielsen; Danielle Garber; info@ensitiodesign.com; Andrea Surratt; Greg Sullivan Subject:probably too late but we see a hazard - Westland subdivision Date:Tuesday, August 06, 2019 10:48:27 AM Shawn, As I was putting away the plan on Westland approved at last night’s commission meeting, I noticed a potential hazard. When the commission approved the elimination of the grass between sidewalk and building, they also made it dangerous for kids riding bikes or running upon the sidewalk on the east and west side of building A. The north-west and east-west corner of the building abuts the driveway and the sidewalk. Children moving fast on bikes traveling north along Gallatin Green on the east side will be completely out of view from drivers exiting the driveway. There is no sight triangle for the sidewalk. The only thing I can think of to solve it is a curved mirror(s). I hope the City can request the developer to include some or come up with some other solution. Again, I apologize for all the confusion last night, I had been notified of the meeting only hours before and was inadequately prepared. Worried, Marilee Brown, Executive Director Safer Bozeman and Gallatin County 579-5447
