HomeMy WebLinkAboutEx 5 8 8 19 BHS Study Memo 1BOZEMAN'' Porking Services Date: To: From: Re: MEMORANDUM JuJy 25,2019 Bozeman Parking Commission Ed Meece, Parking Program Manager Study of 0n Street Parking 0ccupancy Bozeman High RPPD - South of Main Street Only In the April of 20!9, Parking Services Division Staff collected on-street parking occupancy data for a portion of the Bozeman High School Residential Parking Permit District (BHS-RPPD) that lies south of Main Street: o West-side 100 Block of S. 11ù o West-side 200 Bìock of S. 11th o East-side 100 Block of S. 1l-tho South-side 1000 Block of W. Babcock o North-side 1000 Block of W. Olive As a result of this effort, the PSD confirmed anecdotal observations that much of the on-street parking in this area of the BHS-RPPD is routinely underutilized. With one exception, the study area hit the 50% occupancy mark only once. The exception being the South-side 1000 Block of W. Babcock which demonstrated occupancy rates between 670/o - 700o/o. Based on this initial data sample, the Parking Program Manager recommends that the Bozeman Parking Commission authorize staff to collect on-street parking occupancy data, and send cítizen surveys, for the entire region of the BHS-RPPD located South of Main Street (only).
