Continuation of the Bozeman Residence Inn CUP and SUPCommission Memorandum REPORT TO: Honorable Mayor and City Commission FROM: Brian Krueger, Development Review Manager Martin Matsen, Director of Community Development SUBJECT: Continuation of the Bozeman Residence Inn Site Plan, Conditional Use Permit and Special Use Permit Application 18499 from August 5, 2019 to September 9, 2019 AGENDA DATE: August 5, 2019 ITEM TYPE: Action (Quasi Judicial) RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends that the City Commission continue the review to September 9, 2019. RECOMMENDED MOTION: “I hereby continue the review of Bozeman Residence Inn Application 18499 from August 5, 2019 to September 9, 2019.” BACKGROUND: The City Commission is the review authority for the combined site plan, conditional use permit and special use permit for the Bozeman Residence Inn, Application 18499 at 815 East Main Street. The conditional use requested in the application is for an additional 30% increase in allowable maximum building height in the B-2 zoning district. The City Commission is the review authority for the conditional use permit; as such, the entire application will be reviewed by the City Commission. A public hearing for the application has been noticed for the August 5, 2019 City Commission meeting. The project was reviewed by the Design Review Board on July 24, 2019. The Board did not recommend approval of the project at that meeting, they found that the criteria had not been met for the conditional use. The applicant requested additional time to resolve the issue prior to a City Commission review and decision on the application. The application is scheduled to return to the Design Review Board on August 21, 2019. The September 9, 2019 City Commission meeting was selected as the next available agenda that the application could be continued to and that was amendable to the applicant. ALTERNATIVES: Set an alternate date for the review. FISCAL EFFECTS: None at this time.
