Res 5086, CO 4 with Montana Civil Contractors for 5.3 MG Water Storage Tank Commission Memorandum REPORT TO: Honorable Mayor and City Commission FROM: Bob Murray, Project Engineer Shawn Kohtz, City Engineer SUBJECT: Resolution 5086 authorizing Change Order No. 4 to the 5.3 Million Gallon (MG) Water Storage Tank Project. MEETING DATE: August 5, 2019 AGENDA ITEM TYPE: Consent RECOMMENDATION: Approve Resolution 5086 authorizing Change Order No. 4 to the 5.3 MG Water Storage Tank Project. BACKGROUND: Attached is a copy of resolution 5086 and change order number 4 for the above referenced project. This change order includes 2 items involving a change in price. The first is an upgrade to the electrical panel support to a galvanized pipe which will provide a longer service life. The second was to reroute a water sample line into the building. This was necessary because the existing lines could not be located where they were shown on the record drawings for the plant. Pages three through five of the change order provide a short description of each of the items involved with this change along with additional cost information. Overall this change will increase the contract price by $19,651.15 and increase the contract time by 11 days. The final recommended change in cost and time for these items is reasonable and commensurate with the work involved. UNRESOLVED ISSUES: None ALTERNATIVES: As suggested by the City Commission. FISCAL EFFECTS: Overall this change order increases the contract amount by $19,651.15 from $7,702,068.74 to $7,721,719.89.
