Subject:NO to the proposed recovery house in Figgins Addition
Categories:Public Comment
Dear Planning Department,
I am emailing you because of my very serious concerns about the proposed recovery house for TWELVE MEN
on Westridge and Graf. The sheer number of residents proposed for this home far exceeds what the R1 zoning
allows in this neighborhood. I'm not sure how this could possibly pass legal muster.
Many of the neighbors in Figgins and the surrounding neighborhoods are concerned about this proposed
recovery home especially since many of our children will be passing by this house on the way to and from
school on a daily basis, not to mention all hours after school going to friend's houses and after school activities,
without parental supervision. We feel this is an important issue that should involve the input of community
members, especially those in close proximity to the proposed recovery home and for those who have children
attending both SMS and Morning Star.
We are, of course, all in support of such a need in Bozeman for a recovery home. However, we feel that putting
a recovery home smack in the middle of two schools is not at all a good choice, especially one that does not
follow the zoning designation. There are plenty of other places in town that aren't in such close proximity to
schools.
Thank you for you listening to the community,
Emily K. Mason
