I am writing in opposition to the proposed residential treatment facility at the corner of Westridge and Graf streets in
South Bozeman.
Not only is this treatment facility looking to open in an area zoned for single family homes, it is brining criminals and
drug addicts into the backyard of Morning Star Elementary and within blocks of Sacajawea Middle School. I’m not trying
to be harsh, but these are facts.
While I understand and support people who need help overcoming addictions and putting their life on the right track, I
don’t think it should come at the cost of neighborhood children’s safety and security.
My children walk to school. They would be passing this house on a daily basis.
Putting men who have committed drug related offenses and are suffering from addictions right into the heart of their
elementary school playground and within earshot of their middle school is not a sound idea.
I’m requesting that the planning department deny a request for this treatment facility based on the facts that the area is
zoned single family residential and because of it’s close proximity to an elementary school and a middle school.
