Subject: Proposed Recovery House in Figgins Additions
Dear School Leaders & Deputy Mayor Mehl,
I don't know if you saw the article in the Daily Chronicle about the proposed recovery house in
Figgins Addition, but many of the neighbors are concerned about this especially since many of
our children will be passing by this house on the way to and from school on a daily basis, not to
mention all hours after school going to friends houses without parental supervision. We are
hoping to hold a neighborhood meeting with city officials to express our concerns and perhaps
give an opportunity for those proposing the idea to speak. We would love it if a representative
from Morning Star and Sacajawea could be in attendance. We are also wondering if it would be
possible to host the neighborhood meeting at either school. We feel this is an important issue that
should involve the input of community members, especially those in close proximity to the
proposed recovery home and for those who have children attending both SMS and Morning
Star.
We are, of course, all in support of such a need in Bozeman for a recovery home. However, we
feel that putting a recovery home smack in the middle of two schools, one elementary and one
middle schook, is not at all a good choice. There are plenty of other places in town that aren't in
such close proximity to schools. I've included the link to the article below. I've also included
Deputy Mayor Chris Mehl on this email.

Many thanks for your consideration of this very important matter. I very much look forward to
hearing from you promptly, before any decisions by the city are made.
