To the Commissioners, I do not know if this falls into your line of responsibility but I've read that the plans call
for diagonal parking and a left turn lane at a time when we need to eliminate left turns off of Main. I live 4
blocks from Main St and have walked it oh so many times. Now I walk the neighborhood streets until I get near
the place on Main that I want to go to. Cars turning left have so little respect for pedestrians walking with the
green signal that it is dangerous to cross the street. Ask anyone how often they have to stop and wait as a car
turns into the street. I've had cars make their turn while I was in the road pushing a baby stroller. And if I put
my hand up in a stop gesture they just keep nudging or yell at me. I learned long ago to look over my shoulder
for right turners. My ER nurse friend taught that one to me....but the left turners are determined to make that
light, pedestrians or not. Someone should take this seriously and put an end to turning left off of Main St.
