I wish to go on record that while recently speaking with a city engineer about the upcoming PROPOSAL to
reconstruct W. Koch from S. 8th to S. Tracy; I expressed my concerns about the cost of this proposal IN
ADDITION to the cost the following year proposed to improve S. 6th AND then I continued my fatalist
journey to say; "I suppose you will then assess my sidewalks and ask me to improve those"!!! AND HE SAID:
" maybe it's time to sell".......seriously is that the Affordable Housing Plan our public employees are
following?
The net of this conversation with said engineer is that we are on a rough collision course when our city
employees can condescendingly suggest it's time for me to sell my home of 33 years on the corner of S.6th
and W. Koch, with no repercussion. Imagine the tears of anger, sadness, and deflated feelings I had
following that 10 minutes? NOW it's time to let the neighbors on W. Koch & S. 6th know what's in store for
their pocketbooks.
If my adult sons were that rude, there would be words at my home to explain how you 'treat others'.
The CIP suggests in the first paragraph that these improvements will aid in the vision of Bozeman being the
most livable place! ......for whom??? A thoughtful response is welcome. Please don't regurgitate some city
ordinance or plan. I have lived here 47 years and have volunteered on city boards, non profit community
organizations and actively raised my family from birth through 12th grade. How would you feel? Thank you.
