Skinger - Environment and TechnologyFrom:Erica Skinger To:Agenda; ericaskinger@gmail.com Subject:BDC reads re environment, plus Date:Monday, July 08, 2019 2:08:36 PM Here are a few Bozeman Daily Chronicle environment and technology reads this year: (1) "Report: county earns "F" for short-term pollution," BDC, p. A1, 4/25/19; (2)"AIR OFINEQUALITY," BDC, p. A9, 3/15/19; (3) "U.N. report: Environment is deadly, worsening mess, but not hopeless," BDC,p. A2, March 14, 2019; (4)"At age 30,World Wide Web is 'notthe web we wanted'," BDC, p. A1, 3/13/19 (interview with Tim Berners-Lee himself). Please do not treat North 7th Avenue like it is impervious to environmental threats from newuses and power levels of the ultra high energy fiber optic ring. I learned some about the history of that ring in Bozeman for an assignment for Andy Epple's Geography graduateschool course in city planning, Fall 2017. I think the ring is way experimental. That area way needs TLC (tender loving care). The Bozeman City Commission and what you approve is theonly source of TLC for North Seventh Avenue and its all fired TIF district. I was purusing Bozeman's city website on 6/13/16 and came across a city news item, "Public Meeting with Broadband Planners," four good paragraphs covering a 7/17/14 fiber optic ringmeeting. The web address for that in 2016 is (upper right-hand column of printed page) https://www.bozeman.net/Departments/Administration/Economic-De... Still good? I have nottried. Hope you are free to get more on top of some of these pollution impingements fromtechnology, and let as full an understanding as you can come up with guide you to add no additional residences, and improve the situation for those living out there now.Respectfully submitted, Erica A.
