Hello Danielle and the City of Bozeman,
I am writing in response to the proposed building project on Gallatin Green Boulevard. This proposal is
said to entail four buildings (three stories high), 31 dwellings, and two commercial spaces, as well as 70
parking spots. Those of us that reside in Baxter Meadows know that this would be a nightmare. Of all the
streets in our neighborhood, Gallatin Green is the most congested. Cars parked on the streets are
frequently damaged (including a recent hit and run) due to the size of the boulevard. Winter driving is
hazardous at best, with the divided street becoming alarmingly narrow when the snow hits due to the cars
packed in on the streets. Adding this number of people to the street is unconscionable. Our once-quiet
neighborhood already suffers from the thruway of Ferguson Avenue adding an enormous amount of
traffic, endangering our children and the children attending CJMS. Packing in this many new dwellings,
people, and cars in our neighborhood cannot be supported. Please consider greatly reducing the size of
this project and changing the zoning code to R1. It would be my preference to see the project rejected
altogether. We suffer from a lack of green space in our neighborhood. As this project abuts a wetland and
creek, wildlife (specifically birdlife) will suffer from the development. In fact, this area is a place in my
neighborhood in which I've seen foxes. My ultimate choice would be to reject this proposal and offer a
green space for people and wildlife to enjoy. Continuing to ruin Bozeman with the unchecked
development is not helping anyone. Thank you for your time.
