SMALL BUSINESS WEEK
May 8-14, 1983

WHEREAS, we recognize the ingenuity and commitment of American entrepreneurs
and small business owners; and
WHEREAS. they have used the marketplace for meeting the demand for new
products and methods of production; and
WHEREAS, this has inspired people throughout the world to look to America for
a better way of life; and
WHEREAS, each state and community is unique, particularly those communities
of the "Big Sky Country" where over ninety percent of businesses are
Small Businesses that contribute to our enviable lifestyle; and
WHEREAS. we look forward to the continued importance of Small Business in our
community;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Alfred M. Stiff. Mayor of the City of Bozeman, do hereby
proclaim the week of May 8th through May 14th, 1983, as
SMALL BUSINESS WEEK
in agreement with President Ronald Reagan and Governor Ted Schwinden.
