BIG BROTHERS AND SISTERS APPRECIATION WEEK OF BOZEMAN
February 13-19, 1983

WHEREAS. to seek the efforts of community citizens to volunteer their time
and efforts to take a direct. personal and friendly interest in
children and youth primarily from single parent families from the
Gallatin Valley; and
WHEREAS, to improve services to the children of this community by developing
and maintaining standards of acceptable Big Brothers and Sisters
service and by developing methods of program self evaluation; and
WHEREAS. to organize, under professional direction. a body of mature and
responsible adults to interest themselves individually in the
welfare and the positive development of youth; and
WHEREAS. to take a direct, personal and friendly interest in children and
youth and to employ methods that will tend to promote their physical,
mental. and social welfare and thus aid them in developing positive
attitudes about themselves and the community; and
WHEREAS. to organize and operate for charitable purposes. not for profit and
no part of its net earning will be used for the benefit of any
member. shareholder or individual.
NOW, THEREFORE. I. Alfred M. Stiff. Mayor of the City of Bozeman, Montana. do
hereby declare the week of February 13th through 20th. 1983 as:
BIG BROTHERS AND SISTERS APPRECIATION WEEK OF BOZEMAN
and I encourage community support of this worthwhile organization.
