HomeMy WebLinkAboutProclamation 82- White Cane Days April 30 & May 1 1982 PROCLAMATION ------------- WHITE CANE DAYS April 30 & May 1, 1982 * * * * * * WHEREAS , There is always a need to provide services for persons in the State of Montana who have sight, hearing, and oral conmunication problems; and WHEREAS , Lions Clubs of funtana have recognized these needs as well as the needs for continuing research programs to prevent blindness, the loss of hearing, and improve speech corrununication; and WHEREAS , The l'bntana Lions Sight and Hearing F01..Uldation is providing such care and research through their efforts to raise f1..Ulds and coordinate services to those in need; and WHEREAS , Members of the area Lions and Lioness Clubs are conducting a drive to raise the necessary funds, solicit eye donors for the eye bank, and receive used eye glasses and hearing aids for distribution to those in need who cannot afford them; NOW, THEREORE, I, Alfred M. Stiff, Mayor of the City of Bozeman, l'bntana, do proclaim Friday, April 30th and Saturday, May 1st, as WHITE CANE DAYS and I urge all citizens to join in this effort to provide the re- sources needed for sight, hearing, and speech conservation as well as to help provide continuing aid for those who experience difficulties in these areas. IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the great seal of the City SEAL of Bozeman, in the State of Montana, to be affixed at Bozeman, Montana, this 26th day of April in the year of our Lord One Thousand Nine Hundred and Eighty-'lWo.
