SOCCER WEEK
October 1-8, 1983

WHEREAS, soccer is a lifetime sport and can be played by the very young
as well as the adult; and
WHEREAS, soccer is the fastest growing participation sport in the State
and in Bozeman, and is not confined to the young or those with
great physical prowess, but can be pursued by persons of all
ages in varied recreation programs in the community; and
WHEREAS, soccer, in its most far-reaching benefits, promotes sportsmanship,
physical fitness and family involvement; and
WHEREAS, the Bozeman Youth Soccer League stands for healthy physical
activity for all the youth of Gallatin Valley and promotes soccer
as a lifetime sport;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Alfred M. Stiff, Mayor of the City of Bozeman, do hereby
proclaim the week of October 1st through October 8th, 1983, as
SOCCER WEEK
and do urge all citizens to support the soccer program.
