HomeMy WebLinkAboutProclamation 83- Fire Prevention Week October 9-15 1983 PRO C LAM A T ION FIRE PREVENTION WEEK, 1983 October 9-15, 1983 ****************************** WHEREAS, thousands of Americans lose their lives each year from fires that could be prevented; and WHEREAS, great social and economic losses to our City result from the destruction of homes, business enterprises, industries and natural resources; NOW, THEREFORE, I, Alfred M. Stiff, Mayor of the City of Bozeman, do hereby proclaim the week beginning October 9, 1983, as FIRE PREVENTION WEEK and call upon all departments and agencies of the city government to participate actively in a campaign for improved fire safety. The Fire Department and the schools of our city can provide effective leadership in the activities of Fire Prevention Week, and I urge them to work with the Chamber of Commerce and other organizations for a successful program. I earnestly request every citizen of the community to take part in relieving hazardous conditions and making our city a safe community in which to live and work. IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the great seal of the City of Bozeman, in the SEAL State of Montana, to be affixed at Bozeman, Montana, this 3rd day of October, in the year of our Lord, One Thousand Nine Hundred and Eighty-Three.
