SENIOR OLYHPICS li\TEEK
June 18-23, 1984

WHEREAS, Montana Senior Olympics, a part of the United States
Senior Olympics, Incorporated, is sponsoring a
regional senior olympic competition; and
WHEREAS, this activity will provide an opportunity for older
persons to compete against their peers in regulated
events; and
WHEREAS, this activity will focus attention on the importance
of regular physical exercise in each oerson's ulan
for good health; and
WHEREAS, this activity will help in discouraging the stereo-
type of the older adult as rocking-chair-bound,
fragile and weak; and
WHERE-AS, this provides an opportunity for older adults from
this region to meet with one another to develop new
friendships;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Kenneth L. Weaver, Mayor of the City of Bozeman
do hereby proclaim the week of June 18 through 20, 1984, as
SENIOR OLYMPICS WEEK
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have here-
unto set my hand and caused the
SEAL great seal of the City of Bozeman,
in the State of Montana, to be
affixed at Bozeman, Montana, this
18th day of June, in the year of
our Lord, One Thousand Nine Hundred
and Eighty-Four.
