PROCLAMATION
EARTH AWARENESS, CLEAN UP, BEAUTIFICATION COMMUNITY PROJECT
April 16 through 28, 1990

WHEREAS, the City Commission promotes the spirit of cooperation for
achieving economic and environmental balance; and
WHEREAS, April 22 is the twentieth anniversary of Earth Day; and
WHEREAS. April 21 through April 28 have designated as the state-wide
Boy Scout "Project Good Turn" clean-up campaign; and
WHEREAS, many community organizations are involved in scheduled
activities from April 16 to Apri I 27; and
WHEREAS, the City has implemented a "spring clean-up campaign" on
April 21 . in conjunction with the Chamber of Commerce, an
event which has been conducted annually for the past few
years; and
WHEREAS, the City encourages residents and businesses of Bozeman to
beautify their homes and properties by proper yard care,
flower and tree planting and general good property main-
tenance; and
WHEREAS, the City encourages owners of vacant lots to carefully main-
tain their lots to enhance the overall appearance of the
community.
NOW THEREFORE. I, Robert L. Hawks, Mayor of the City of Bozeman.
do hereby proclaim April 16 through 28, 1990, as
EARTH AWARENESS. CLEAN UP, BEAUTIFICATION COMMUNITY PROJECT
in the City of Bozeman and encourage all residents and business owners
to work in conjunction with the City staff to take pride in and enhance
their properties.
Be it further proclaimed that April 21 and Apri I 28 be established as
"Free Dump Days" for Bozeman residents whose loads contain no recycl-
abies to further promote the beautification efforts.
