BARBERSHOP HARMONY MONTH
April 1985

WHEREAS, the Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of
Barber Shop Quartet Singing in America, Incorporated
is celebrating its 47th Anniversary; and
WHEREAS, the Bozeman Chapter of the S.P.E.B.S.Q.S.A. has been
affiliated with this unique Society for 11 years; and
WHEREAS, the S.P.E.B.S.Q.S.A. has been an organization dedicated
to the enjoyment of the people of North America through
building and encouraging close harmony groups, and the
encouragement of harmony among all people of the world
for almost half a century; and
WHEREAS, the S.P.E.B.S.Q.S.A. is celebrating its 47th Anniversary
of civic service through song in barbershop harmony,
America's oldest song style;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Kenneth L. Weaver, Mayor of the City of Bozeman,
do hereby proclaim the month of April 1985 as
BARBERSHOP HARMONY MONTH
in Bozeman and extend best wishes to the Bozeman Chapter of the
S.P.E.B.S.Q.S.A. for continued success in promoting barbershop
quartet singing in our community.
