PROCLAMATION

UNITED WAY DAYS
September 12 to October 31, 1987

WHEREAS, it is important that Gallatin County provide needed services
for many of its inhabitants to express its care and concern
for its residents; and
WHEREAS. such services can best be provided by agencies that save
lives, train, provide health care, guide and assist youth,
the elderly and the needy; and
WHEREAS, a combined campaign of 20 member agencies of United Way
has proven to be effective and efficient as well as
successful in past years using volunteers to visit their
neighbors and businesses for the purpose of assisting in
the funding of such services; and
WHEREAS, the United Way has set a goal of $203,600 for distribution
in 1988 to such agencies and shall begin the campaign on
September 12, 1987.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Alfred M. Stiff, Mayor Pro Tempore of the City
of Bozeman, do hereby proclaim September 12 to October 31, 1987 as
"UNITED WAY DAYSII
in the City of Bozeman and urge all our citizens and businesses to
cooperate in this campaign as their hearts dictate, to welcome the
volunteers and to give freely in an attitude of love <'lnd concern.
