HomeMy WebLinkAboutProclamation 86- Fair Housing Month April 1986 . . p ~ 0 C LAM A ~ ION Y2l..IR HOUSPIG ~~ONTH April 1986 *********************** WHEREAS, the strength of our Nation flows from the promise of individual equality and freedom of choice; and WHEREAS, the Eighteenth Anniversary of the National Fair Housing Law, Title VIII of the Civil Rights Act of 1968, during the month of April 1986, is an occasion for all Americans, individually and collectively, to rededicate themselves to the principle of freedom of choice and the elimination of the vestiges of housing discrimination wherever they exist; and WHEREAS, fair housing is the policy of City of Bozeman and the implementa- tion of that policy requires the nositive commitment, involvement and support of each of our citizens; and ~VHEREAS, the departments and agencies of the City of R07.eman are to provide leadership in the effort to make fair housing an ideal for all our citizens; and WHEREAS, Bozeman housing industry and governmental entities are united in the common goal of safe and sanitary housing for ~LL Bozeman; NOW, THEREFORE, I, Judith A. Mathre, Mayor of the City of Bozeman, do hereby proclaim the month of Anri1 198h as FAIR HOUSING MONTH in Bozeman and ask the people of this City to join in reaffirming the obligation and commitment to fair housing opportunities for all.
