GLOBAL PARTNERSHIP DAY
June 20, 1986

WHEREAS, global hunger and poverty are truly pressing problems today;
and
WHE REAS , there exists a vast and untapped potential for constructively
addressing these concerns; and
WHEREAS, the students of the Overseas Development Network have organized
Bike-Aid ' 86: Pedalling for Progress, a cross-country bicycle
tour to provide an educational forum to discuss these problems,
and to raise funds for their long-term solutions; and
WHEREAS, the solutions to hunger and poverty require a meaningful
partnership between people of all nations, rich and poor;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Judith A. Mathre, Mayor of the City of Bozeman, do here-
by proclaim the day of June 20, 1986, as
GLOBAL PARTNERSHIP DAY
and do urge community support for this event.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto
set my hand and caused the Great
Seal of the City of Bozeman, in the
Seal State of Montana, to be affixed at
Bozeman, Montana, this 27th day of
