HomeMy WebLinkAboutProclamation 88- RSVP Day April 20 1988 PROCLAMATION RSVP DAY April 20, 1988 * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * WHEREAS, more and more senior Americans are fulfilling their retirement years by helping others as community volunteers; and WHEREAS, nearly 400,000 of these active men and women, including 211 volunteers, age 60 and up in Gallatin County, answer the needs of their neighbors through the Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP); and WHEREAS, RSVP volunteers, matching their talents with non~profit proj- ects, donate 35,000 hours of their time annually in Gallatin County, sponsored by HRDC and ACTION, the federal domes- tic volunteer agency; and WHEREAS, the City of Bozeman recognizes the contributions of RSVP volunteers to Gallatin County and the nation. NOW, THEREFORE, I , Alfred M. Stiff, Mayor of the City of Bozeman, Montana, do hereby proclaim Apri I 20, 1988 as RSVP DAY in the City of Bozeman and urge all citizens to join RSVP volunteers in celebrating the spirit of our country's tradition of helping others.
