HomeMy WebLinkAboutProclamation 88- Just Say No Day May 21 1988 PROCLAMATION JUST SAY NO DAY May 21,1988 * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * WHEREAS, the youth of Bozeman, Montana, are our most important asset; and their physical, emotional and mental well-being faci I itate the education and training so important to their ability to grow and prosper; and WHEREAS, we as a community are committed to our young people and en- courage their effort to provide positive peer pressure and "Just Say No" to alcohol and drugs; and WHEREAS, communities across the country are planning rallies, marches and other special events to bring public attention to our na- tion's number one teenage problem; and WHEREAS, the "Just Say No" rally and march will allow these children to make a positive statement against drugs and alcohol and this will be the catalyst to start a wave of positive peer pressure within the youth of the City of Bozeman, Montana. NOW, THEREFORE, I , Alfred M. Stiff, Mayor of the City of Bozeman, Montana, do hereby proclaim the May 21, 1988 as "JUST SAY NO DAY" in the City of Bozeman, Montana, and do urge all citizens to participate in the scheduled events to show support on this issue.
