CONSTITUTION WEEK
September 17-23. 1987

WHEREAS. September 17. 1987 marks the two hundredth anniversary of
the drafting of the Constitution of the United States of
America by the Constitutional Convention; and
WHEREAS. it is fitting and proper to accord official recognition to this
memorable anniversary. and to the patriotic exercises that
wi II commemorate the occasion; and
WHEREAS, Public Law No. 915 guarantees the issuing of a proclamation
each year by the President of the United States of America
designating September 17 through September 23 as Consti-
tution Week.
NOW, THEREFORE. I, Alfred M. Stiff, Mayor Pro Tempore of the City
of Bozeman, do hereby proclaim September 17 through 23, 1987 as
IICONSTITUTION WEEK"
and urge all citizens to study the Constitution, to express gratitude
for the privilege of American citizenship in our Republic functioning
under the superb body of laws -- the Constitution of the United States
of America.
