TEACHER APPRECIATION DAY
January 28, 1987

WHEREAS, the teachers of the United States, of Montana, and of Bozeman
make a significant contribution to the future; and
WHEREAS, Christa McAuliffe was a fine representative of the noble profes-
sion of teaching; and
WHEREAS, Christa McAuliffe lost her life in the tragic space shuttle ex-
plosion on January 28, 1986; and
WHEREAS, January 28, 1987 has been declared Teacher Appreciation Day by
an act of Congress.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Judith A. Mathre. Mayor of the City of Bozeman, do
hereby proclaim January 28, 1987, as
"TEACHER APPRECIATION DAY"
::1.0 the City of Bozeman and urge that parents and citizens express their
appreciation to the fine teachers of the Bozeman School District for the::l.r
dedication and service to young people.
