MUNICIPAL CLERK'S WEEK
May 10-16. 1987

WHEREAS. the office of Municipal Clerk is the historical mainstay in local
government. entrusted with the dual responsibility of preserving
the past and using modern technology to access that information
for the future; and
WHEREAS. the Municipal Clerk's role is multi-faceted. accomplishing sev-
eral key responsibilities which directly contribute to the stead-
fast qualities of local government; and
WHEREAS. the Municipal Clerk serves as a conscientious and progressive
public servant providing harmonious connecti.on between the local
governing body and the citizenry; and
WHEREAS. the Municipal Clerk's reflective manner towards professional
development through continued education participation is a vital
advancement in today's world;" and
WHEREAS. it is therefore appropriate to appraise the professional attri-
butes and capabilities of the Municipal Clerk and recognize their
important purpose and function in our everchanging society.
NOW. THEREFORE. I, Judith A. Mathre. Mayor of the City of Bozeman. do
hereby proclaim the week of May 10 through 16. 1987. as
"MUNICIPAL CLERK'S WEEK"
in recognition of the Municipal Clerk's ability to appropriately respond
to the changes of today with forethought for the future of this historic
office and its public service to the local citizen.
