PROCLAMATION

UNITED WAY DAYS
September 10 to October 31, 1991

WHEREAS, it is important that Gallatin County provide needed services
for many of its inhabitants to express its care and concern
for its residents; and
WHEREAS, such services can best be provided by agencies that save
lives, train, provide hea I th care, guide and assist youth,
the elderly and the needy; and
WHEREAS, a combined campaign of 21 member agencies of United Way
has proven to be effective and efficient as well as
successful in past years using volunteers to visit their
neighbors and businesses for the purpose of assisting in
the funding of such services; and
WHEREAS, the United Way has set a goal of $275,000 for distribution
in 1992 to such agencies and shall begin the campaign on
September 10, 1991.
NOW, THEREFORE, I , Robert L. Hawks, Mayor of the City of
Bozeman, do hereby proclaim the pe r i od from September 10, 1991 to
October 31, 1991 as
"UNITED WAY DAYS"
in the City of Bozeman and urge all our citizens and businesses to
cooperate in this campaign as their hea rts dictate, to welcome the
volunteers and to give freely in an attitude of love and concern.
