PROCLAMATION
UNITED NATIONS DAY
October 24, 1991

WHEREAS, the national interest of our own country is the concern and
responsibility of every citizen of our democracy; and
WHEREAS, our national interest and world interest call for the
cooperation of our nation with other nations; and
WHEREAS, international organization and planning for the pu rposes of
security, justice and peace, is at present best embodied in
the United Nations; and
WHEREAS, our federal government has been one founder and leader of
the United Nations throughout its history, and in this present
year is sharing in so many international efforts under the
umbrella of the United Nations.
NOW, THEREFORE, I , Robert L. Hawks, Mayor of the City of Bozeman,
Montana, do hereby proclaim October 24, 1991 as
UNITED NATIONS DAY
noting the Commission's support of the charter and principles of the
United Nations, and urging attention and consideration of residents be
directed towa rd the United Nations on the 46th anniversary of its
founding, and whenever international problems call for international
spirit and action.
SEA L I N WITNESS WHEREOF, I have here-
unto set my hand and caused the
great seal of the City of Bozeman, in
the State of Montana, to be affixed
at Bozeman, Montana, this 21st day
of October, in the year of our Lord,
One Thousand Nin Hundred and
