HomeMy WebLinkAboutProclamation 91- Community Yellow Ribbon Welcome Home Week May 27 - June 2 1991 PROCLAMATION "COMMUNITY YELLOW RIBBON WELCOME HOME WEEK" May 27 to June 2, 1991 * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * WHEREAS America was a member of the Persian Gulf coalition forces; and WHEREAS there are more than 100,000 veterans among the State of Montana's 800,000 people; 10,000 Montanans are actively serving in the Armed Forces of the United States; and another 7,500 Montanans are in the National Guard and Reserves; and WHEREAS there are thousands of Montana's sons and daughters who have served victoriously and with honor in the Persian Gulf; and WHEREAS hundreds of these soldiers live and work in and around the Bozeman community; and WHEREAS the people of the State of Montana and the Bozeman community have overwhelmingly supported their troops in the Persian Gulf; and WHEREAS many of our service men and women have returned to Montana, their beloved fami lies and friends in Bozeman. NOW, THEREFORE, I , Robert L. Hawks, Mayor of the City of Bozeman, do hereby procla im the week of May 27 to June 2, 1991, as "COMMUNITY YELLOW RIBBON WELCOME HOME WEEK" in the City of Bozeman in honor of these brave men and women and their families.
