PROCLAMATION WESTERN WEAR WEEK June 11-17, 1989 * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * WHEREAS, the College National Finals Rodeo is celebrating its 40th Anniversary; and WHEREAS, the College National Finals Rodeo is being held in Bozeman, Montana, for the 18th consecutive year; and WHEREAS, this College National Finals Rodeo will be the largest ever held in Bozeman, Montana, with 375 collegiate contestants being hosted and competing; and WHEREAS, the Bozema n , Montana, College National Finals Rodeo has proven to be the quickest, most efficiently run rodeo in the world; and WHEREAS, the 1988 television coverage of the College National Finals Rodeo was voted one of the top ten sports specials of the year; and WH EREAS, the College National Finals Rodeo telecast drew 5.5 million viewers throughout the United States and Canada. NOW THEREFORE, I, Alfred M. Stiff, Mayor of the City of Bozeman, do hereby proclaim the week of June 11-17, 1989 as "WESTERN WEAR WEEK" in the City of Bozeman, and encourage the community to support this event by dressing in western wear during this week-long event.
