HomeMy WebLinkAboutProclamation 88- Constitution Week September 17-23 1988 PRO C LAM A T ION CONSTITUTION WEEK September 17-23, 1988 * * * * * * * * WHEREAS, September 17, 1988 marks the two hundred and first anniversary of the United States of America by the Constitutional Convention; and WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper to accord official recognition to this memorable anniversary, and to the patriotic exercises that will commemorate the occasion; and WHEREAS, Public Law No. 915 guarantees the issuing of a proclamation each year by the President of the United States of America designating September 17 thru 23 as Constitution Week. NOW, THEREFORE, I Alfred M. Stiff, Mayor of the City of Bozeman, do hereby proclaim September 17 through 23, 1988 as "CONSTITUTION WEEK" and urge all citizens to study the Constitution, to express gratitude for the privilege of American citizenship in our Republic functioning under the superb body of laws -- the Constitution of the United States of America.
