PROCLAMATION
HISTORIC PRESERVATION WEEK
May 14-20, 1989

WHEREAS, historic preservation gives Americans a deeper under-
standing of their richly diverse architectural and cultural
heritage; and
WHEREAS, historic preservation contributes to the livability of
America's towns, cities and rural areas and promotes local
pride and community self-help; and
WHEREAS, historic buildings provide better quality places to live for
all Americans; and
WHEREAS, Historic Preservation Week 1989 provides an excellent oppor-
tunity for all Americans to help maintain, preserve and pro-
tect our nation's heritage; and
WHEREAS, II Look Homeward, America" is the theme for Historic Preser-
vation Week 1989, co-sponsored by the National Trust for
Historic Preservation and the Bozeman Historic Preservation
Advisory Commission.
NOW THEREFORE, I, Alfred M. Stiff, Mayor of the City of Bozeman,
do hereby proclaim the week of May 14-20, 1989 as
HISTORIC PRESERVATION WEEK
in the City of Bozeman and call upon the people of Bozeman to recog-
nize and participate in this special observance.
