PROCLAMATION
BOZEMAN BEAUTIFICATION MONTH
April 28 through May 29, 1989

WHEREAS, 1989 is Montana's Centennial Year; and
WH E REAS, Apri I 28 is Arbor Day, a day on which people are
encouraged to plant a tree; and
WHEREAS, May 29 is the day on which Memorial Day is observed; and
WHEREAS, the City has implemented a "spring clean-up campaign" in
conjunction with the Chamber of Commerce, which has been
conducted annually for the past few years; and
WHEREAS, the City encourages residents of Bozeman to beautify their
homes and property by proper yard care, flower and tree
planting and general good property maintenance; and
WHEREAS, the City encourages businesses in Bozeman to promote and
participate in "Bozeman Beautification Month"; and
WHEREAS, the City encourages owners of vacant lots to carefully
maintain their lots to enhance the overall appearance of the
community.
NOW THEREFORE, I, Alfred M. Stiff, Mayor of the City of Bozeman,
do hereby proclaim Apri I 28 through May 29, 1989 as
"BOZEMAN BEAUTIFICATION MONTH"
in the City of Bozeman and encourage all residents and business
owners to take pride in and enhance their properties.
Be it further proclaimed that Apri I 29 and May 13 be establ ished as
II Free Dump Days II for Bozeman residents to further promote the beauti-
fication efforts.
