PROCLAMATION
HONORING 50th ANNIVERSARY OF
THE BATTLE OF THE BULGE
* * * * * * * * * *
WHEREAS, World War II was fought fifty years ago; and
WHEREAS, many of the veterans of that war are alive today and yet vividly recall the
events of the war as if they were yesterday; and
WHEREAS, many of the veterans received multiple decorations and medals for their service;
and
WHEREAS, the Battle of the Bulge is recognized as one of the most important excursions
during World War II; and
WHEREAS, many of the 20,000 U.S. military personnel lost their lives so others could
survive; and
WHEREAS, Montana and Bozeman had men and women in the campaign; and
WHEREAS, we now live in a free nation because of their efforts; and
WHEREAS, the United States of America continues to be a strong nation due to their
service, example and sacrifice.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, John C. Vincent, Mayor of the City of Bozeman, do hereby proclaim
January 17, 1995 as
"HONORING 50th ANNIVERSARY OF THE BATTLE OF THE BULGE"
in the City of Bozeman, and encourage the citizens of Bozeman to honor those who
courageously served our country during World War II, particularly at the Battle of the Bulge,
and remember those who gave their lives so that we can live our lives in freedom.

my hand and caused the Great Seal of the
City of Bozeman, in the State of Montana, to
be affixed at Bozeman, Montana, this 17th"
day of January in the year of our Lord One
Thousand Nine Hundred and Ninety-five.
