HomeMy WebLinkAboutProclamation 96- Boys and Girls Club Week PROCLAMATION BOYS AND GIRLS CLUB WEEK April 14~20, 1996 * * * * * * * * * * WHEREAS, the young people of Montana are tomorrow's leaders; and WHEREAS, many such young people need professional youth services to help them cope with a wide range of social and financial hardships; and WHEREAS, there are four Boys and Girls Club organizations in Montana, in Billings, Bozeman, Lame Deer and Red Lodge, providing services to young people; and WHEREAS. the Boys and Girls Clubs are at the forefront of efforts in drug and alcohol prevention, teen pregnancy prevention, after school activity programs, prevention of gangs and gang violence, etc.; and WHEREAS, the Boys and Girls Club organizations in our state help ensure that our young people keep off the streets, offering them a safe and supportive place to go and providing them with quality programs; and WHEREAS, the Boys and Girls Clubs of Montana will celebrate National Boys and Girls Club Week 1996, along with some 1,800 clubs and more than two million young people nationwide. NOW, THEREFORE, I, Don E. Stueck, Mayor of the City of Bozeman, do hereby proclaim April 14 through April 20, 1996 as "BOYS AND GIRLS CLUB WEEK" in the City of Bozeman, and call on all citizens to join with me in recognizing and commending the Boys and Girls Club organizations in our state for providing comprehensive, effective services to the young people in our communities. SEAL IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Great Seal of the City of Bozeman, in the State of Montana, to be affixed at Bozeman, Montana, this 15th day of April in the year of our Lord One Thousand Nine Hundred and Ninety-six.
