HomeMy WebLinkAboutProclamation 96- Lou Gappmayer Appreciation Day June 6 1996 PROCLAMATION LOU GAPPMAYER APPRECIATION DAY June 6, 1996 * * * * * * * * * * WHEREAS, Lou Gappmayer is retiring today after twenty-five years as Principal of the Bozeman High School; and WHEREAS, during Mr. Gappmayer's tenure the Bozeman High School has grown in various ways, including expansion of the grades to include ninth grade, expansion of the physical facility, and increases in staffing and services; and WHEREAS, the Bozeman High School has garnered national-level accolades, twice by Redbook magazine as Montana's outstanding high school and twice by the US Department of Education's Blue Ribbon Schools program; and WHEREAS, Lou Gappmayer has impacted, both directly and indirectly, the lives of thousands of families in a variety of positive ways; and WHEREAS, during this year's graduation ceremonies, Lou Gappmayer read the name of the 7,500th student to graduate from Bozeman High School since his arrival in 1971. NOW, THEREFORE, I, Don E. Stueck, Mayor of the City of Bozeman, do hereby proclaim June 6, 1996 (the last day of school) as "LOU GAPPMA YER APPRECIATION DAY" in the City of Bozeman, in honor of Lou Gappmayer's dedicated service to the community.
