HomeMy WebLinkAboutProclamation 96- Harmony Month September 17 - October 8 1996 PROCLAMATION HARMONY MONTH September 17 to October 8, 1996 * * * * * * * * * * WHEREAS, barbershop harmony is America's oldest song style; and WHEREAS, the Chordrustlers Barbershop Chorus is affiliated with the Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barbershop Quartet Singing in America (SPEBSQSA); and WHEREAS, the Society for Preservation and Encouragement of Barbershop Quartet Singing in America has been dedicated to the enjoyment of people of North America through building and encouraging close harmony groups, and the encouragement of harmony among all people in the world for over half a century; and WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Chord rustlers Barbershop Chorus to promote harmony in the community; and WHEREAS, it is the intent of the Chord rustlers Barbershop Chorus to "keep the whole world singing". NOW, THEREFORE, I, Don E. Stueck, Mayor of the City of Bozeman, do hereby proclaim September 17 to October 8, 1996 as "HARMONY MONTH" in the City of Bozeman, in recognition of their desire to make Bozeman a more harmonious place in which to live. SEAL IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Great Seal of the City of Bozeman, in the State of Montana, to be affixed at Bozeman, Montana, this 16th day of September in the year of our Lord One Thousand Nine Hundred and Ninety-six.
