HomeMy WebLinkAboutProclamation 97- Boy Scout Week February 2-8 1997 --- PROCLAMATION BOY SCOUT WEEK February 2-8, 1997 * * * * * * * * * * WHEREAS, the Boy Scouts of America was founded February 8, 1910, and chartered by Congress to provide an educational program for boys and to build character; and WHEREAS, said organization, throughout its existence, has performed exemplary service to the nation and its people in encouraging youth to patriotism and good works, and encouraging youth to keep "physically strong, mentally awake and morally straight"; and WHEREAS, Boy Scouts in the city of Bozeman and elsewhere, and their families, have enjoyed the fruits of faithfulness to the foregoing principles; and WHEREAS, now, it is the desire and intention of the Commission of the City of Bozeman to make some permanent memorial of official recognition to the Boy Scouts of America and its loyal members. NOW, THEREFORE, I, Don E. Stueck, Mayor of the City of Bozeman, do hereby proclaim the week of February 2-8, 1997 as "BOY SCOUT WEEK" in the City of Bozeman, and encourage the citizens of Bozeman to recognize the benefits of this organization. SEAL IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Great Seal of the City of Bozeman, in the State of Montana, to be affixed at Bozeman, Montana, this 21 st day of January in the year of our Lord One Thousand Nine Hundred and Ninety-seven.
