HomeMy WebLinkAboutProclamation 97- Bozeman Recycles Day Novemeber 15 1997 PROCLAMATION BOZEMAN RECYCLES DAY November 15, 1997 * * * * * * * * * * WHEREAS, "America Recycles Day" is a national campaign to increase recycling and to encourage people to buy more products made of recycled material; and WHEREAS, this national campaign is designed to build public awareness of recycling opportunities; and WHEREAS, the theme of this year's event is "Keep Recycling Working: Buy Recycled"; and WHEREAS, the City of Bozeman is a member of the Headwaters Cooperative Recycling Project; and WHEREAS, bins have been strategically placed throughout the community to make it easier for residents to participate in a number of recycling opportunities; and WHEREAS, recycling results in reduced costs of solid waste disposal and lengthens the life of the landfill; and WHEREAS, it is important for people to purchase recycled products to maintain the cycle needed to keep recycling an attractive option. NOW, THEREFORE, I, Don E. Stueck, Mayor of the City of Bozeman, do hereby proclaim November 15, 1997 as "BOZEMAN RECYCLES DAY" and encourage the citizens of Bozeman to ""Keep Recycling Working: Buy Recycled." SEAL IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Great Seal of the City of Bozeman, in the State of Montana, to be affixed at Bozeman, Montana, this 17th day of November in the year of our Lord One Thousand Nine Hundred and Ninety-seven.
