PROCLAMATION
RECOGNITION OF THE DECA CLUB
FROM BOZEMAN HIGH SCHOOL

WHEREAS, Distributive Education Clubs of America (DECAl is a student centered
organization designed to provide marketing students with activities that will
allow them to become skilled employable workers in the career fields of
business, marketing, merchandising and management; and
WHEREAS, the slogan of the Distributive Education Clubs of America is "developing future
leaders for marketing and management"; and
WHEREAS, from 1985 to date, Bozeman High School has placed 275 winners in Montana
State DECA competitions; and
WHEREAS, over 215 students representing 17 Montana DECA chapters competed at the
1997 Montana DECA Conference in Great Falls on March 2-4, 1997; and
WHEREAS, 39 of the 45 participants from Bozeman High School were finalists in their
respective events and contests; and
WHEREAS, Bozeman High School students who qualified to attend the DECA Nationals,
held in Anaheim, California, on April 30 through May 4, 1997, include: Nick
Kirwan, Corey Christopherson, Carli Millikin, Jill Syth, Missy Scott, Kendra
Fellows, Cameron Marlow, Jonathan Myers, Wyeth Anderson, Kara Fellows,
Jason Swanson, Tara McMurray, Mandi Mayer, Brian Cattin, David Screnar,
Brian Schultz, Jeanne Gaworski and John Milesnick.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Don E. Stueck, Mayor of the City of Bozeman, do hereby proclaim and
bestow
"SPECIAL RECOGNITION TO THE DECA CLUB FROM BOZEMAN HIGH SCHOOL"
in the City of Bozeman, and encourage the citizens of Bozeman to recognize the efforts of
these Bozeman High School students in the Distributive Education Clubs of America.
SEAL IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set
my hand and caused the Great Seal of the
City of Bozeman, in the State of Montana, to
be affixed at Bozeman, Montana, this 5th day
of May in the year of our Lord One Thousand
