PROCLAMATION
RECOGNITION OF MEMBERS OF THE 1997 ALL-STATE
"AA" GIRLS' BASKETBALL TEAM
* * * * * * * * * *
WHEREAS, Brianne Kottwitz is a senior, and Paige Saunders is a junior at Bozeman High
School; and
WHEREAS, Both Brianne and Paige were chosen members of the 1997 1 st Team All-State
"AA" Girls' Basketball team on November 21, 1997; and
WHEREAS, Brianne has been a member of the Varsity team for three years, helping the
team to two first place finishes, and a third place finish; and
WHEREAS, Brianne led her team in assists, scores and steals; and
WHEREAS, Paige has been a member of the Varsity team for the past two years, assisting
their high placement in both years; and
WHEREAS, Paige is recognized as one of the best post players, leading her team in
rebounds and placing second in scoring; and
WHEREAS, Both Brianne and Paige were chosen to be members of the 1997 Academic All-
State" AA" Girls' Basketball team because of their academic achievements; and
WHEREAS, Brianne will attend Lewis and Clark College in Lewiston, Idaho, next year on a
basketball scholarship; and
WHEREAS, Based on their accomplishments throughout the season, Brianne and Paige are
recognized as two of the best basketball players in the State of Montana.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Alfred M. Stiff, Mayor of the City of Bozeman, do hereby recognize
Brianne Kottwitz and Paige Saunders as talented athletes and an inspiration to others, and
encourage the citizens of Bozeman to be supportive of the City's athletes and their
achievements.
