HomeMy WebLinkAboutProclamation 98- Boys and Girls Club of Southwest Montana Week April 19-26 1998 PROCLAMATION BOYS AND GIRLS CLUB OF SOUTHWEST MONTANA WEEK April 19-26, 1998 * * * * * * * * * * WHEREAS, the young people of Montana are tomorrow's leaders; and WHEREAS, many such young people need professional youth services to help them cope with a wide range of social and financial hardships; and WHEREAS, there are eighteen Boys and Girls Club organizations in Montana, one of which is located in Bozeman, providing services to more than 8,000 young people annually; and WHEREAS, the Boys and Girls Clubs are the forefront of efforts in substance abuse prevention, delinquency prevention, day care, literacy programs and violence prevention; and WHEREAS. the Boys and Girls Club organizations in our state help ensure that our young people keep off the streets, offering them a safe and supportive place to go and provide them with quality programs; and WHEREAS. the Boys and Girls Clubs of Montana will celebrate the National Boys and Girls Club Week 1998 along with more than 2,000 Clubs and some 2.8 million young people nationwide. NOW, THEREFORE, I, Alfred M. Stiff, Mayor of the City of Bozeman, do hereby proclaim the week of April 19 through 26, 1998 as "BOYS AND GIRLS CLUB OF SOUTHWEST MONTANA WEEK" in the City of Bozeman, and encourage the citizens of Bozeman to join in recognizing and commending the Boys and Girls Club organizations for providing comprehensive, effective services to the young people of our community.
