HomeMy WebLinkAboutProclamation 98- Smoke Free Week November 15-21 1998 PROCLAMATION SMOKE FREE WEEK NOVEMBER 15-21, 1998 * * * * * * * * * * WHEREAS, the abuse of tobacco and tobacco dependency are among America's most serious problems, affecting every community, whether urban or rural; and WHEREAS, more people can be reached through awareness of tobacco abuse and dependency as a serious problem by the public schools, doctors, work place assistance programs, and the community as a whole; and WHEREAS, the Chief Joseph Middle School Breakfast Club has undertaken a project to change Bozeman to a smoke free city by the Year 2000; and WHEREAS, the third week of November each year has been designated as the Great American Smoke-out. NOW, THEREFORE, I, Alfred M. Stiff, Mayor of the City of Bozeman, do hereby proclaim November 15-21, 1998 as "SMOKE FREE WEEK" in the City of Bozeman, and encourage the citizens of Bozeman to recognize the merits of a smoke-free Bozeman.
