PROCLAMATION
PUBLIC SAFETY DISPATCHERS' WEEK
April 11-1 7, 1999

WHEREAS, emergencies that require immediate response from 9-1-1 centers, police, fire
and medical services occur at any time; and
WHEREAS, the prompt response of emergency equipment and personnel is critical to the
protection and preservation of life and property; and
WHEREAS, public safety dispatchers are the first and most critical contact citizens have
with emergency services; and
WHEREAS, public safety dispatchers are the single vital link for police officers and
firefighters in monitoring their activities by radio, providing information and
ensuring their safety; and
WHEREAS, public safety dispatchers continually demonstrate compassion, understanding
and professionalism while enduring the stresses of shift work and numerous
emergencies; and
WHEREAS, the community is fortunate to have diligent and dedicated professional public
safety dispatchers to provide these services.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Alfred M. Stiff, Mayor of the City of Bozeman, do hereby proclaim
April 11 through 17, 1999 as
"PUBLIC SAFETY DISPATCHERS' WEEK"
in the City of Bozeman in honor and recognition of our Public Safety Dispatchers for their
vital contributions to the safety and well-being of the citizens of Bozeman.

City of Bozeman, in the State of Montana, to
be affixed at Bozeman, Montana, this 5th day
