HomeMy WebLinkAbout06-05-19 Correspondence - Environmental Protection Agency to Andrus - National Brownfields Program Grant Competition June 5, 2019 The Honorable Cyndy Andrus Mayor of Bozeman 121 North Rouse Avenue Bozeman, MT 59771 Dear Mayor Andrus: Thank you for submitting a grant proposal to the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) National Brownfields Program Grant competition. I regret to inform you that the City of Bozeman’s Assessment Grant proposal was not selected because it did not score high enough on the ranking criteria established in the FY19 Proposal Guidelines for Brownfields Assessment Grants. EPA received 438 proposals for consideration and had funds to award 151 grants from the highest ranking proposals. Your proposal was evaluated along with other proposals received by the deadline as part of the FY19 Brownfields Program Grant competition. The proposals were evaluated by panels consisting of EPA staff, as well as other federal representatives. These panels assessed how well the applicants’ responses met the criteria outlined in the proposal guidelines. Although your proposal was unsuccessful this round, we encourage you to consider reapplying in the FY20 grant competition cycle should funding become available. In addition, if you have questions as to why you were not selected for funding, you may request a debriefing from your EPA Regional Brownfields Contact within 15 calendar days of receiving this letter. For further information about the debriefing process and any dispute rights with respect to competition-related issues under this announcement, please refer to Section VI.E. of the proposal guidelines. If you have questions regarding the next Multipurpose, Assessment, Revolving Loan Fund, and Cleanup Grant competition, please contact your EPA Regional Brownfields Contact, Danny Heffernan, at 303-312-7074 or heffernan.daniel@epa.gov. I commend your efforts and appreciate the time and energy you put into preparing your grant proposal. Although your proposal was not selected, we thank you for your continued efforts to return brownfields to productive reuse. Sincerely, David R. Lloyd, Director Office of Brownfields and Land Revitalization cc: Danny Heffernan David Fine
