Please explain your relevant qualifications, interests and experiences:
Admittedly my relevant qualifications do not extend much further beyond being an engaged citizen. I am
not expert on zoning laws in any way but I have a strong desire to learn more and do good by the city. My
interests include the ubiquitous outdoor pursuits such as trail running, climbing and paddle boarding in the
summer; skiing and ice climbing in the winter. Beyond the mountain related endeavors, I am interested in
becoming more active and engaged in my community. In the last two years I've taking volunteer gigs with
MWA's Adopt-A-Trail, HRDC's Warming Center, Gallatin Valley Food bank and the Big Sky Wind Drinkers.
My experiences include 2-service terms with the Montana Conservation Corps, 4-years with the Forest
Service serving the Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest, 3-years with the Park Service in Yellowstone as
a Backcountry Ranger, and 10-years as a proud employee at Mystery Ranch Backpacks. In addition to the
jobs I've served, I am Bozeman home-owner and a dedicated member of a local community group called
Bozeman Action Resources (BAR). We've been meeting once a month for over 2-years to discuss local and
national issues that concern us, research and present on topics like ballot referendums and share
educational resources on topical issues. Probably the most fulfilling part of BAR meetings is the last 20-
minutes is always designated to action items. These actions usually consist of writing letters or making
phone calls to senators/representative and local legislators on issues and bills that affect our community.
It's been my experience with BAR that has inspired me to expand on my community engagement and apply
for this vacancy.

The Bozeman City Charter, voted in by the citizens of Bozeman in 2008, requires annual ethics training.
If appointed, do you understand you will be expected to take online and in person ethics trainings?
(○) Yes
How did you hear about this board or vacancy?
From the website and from a member of a different advisory board.
Is there any other information that you feel we need to know?
I occasionally have to travel for work but it's not excessive. In 2018 I traveled 5 times for Mystery Ranch,
the longest being a 10-day trip to Asia. Outside of these work-related trips and the occasional vacation, I
feel I am very stable and present and capable of attending most of the meetings.
Thank you for your consideration.
