RE: Sunset of Bozeman Tourism Business Improvement District
Dear Mayor Andrus;
I am reaching out to you on behalf of the Bozeman Tourism Business Improvement District Board of
Directors to let you know of action taken at the last Board meeting held on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at
12:00 noon in the Board Room at the Bozeman Area Chamber of Commerce.
The Bozeman Tourism Business Improvement District Board of Directors made the following two (2)
motions:
• A motion was made and seconded to Sunset the current Bozeman Tourism Business
Improvement District as it exists today and to submit a zero budget for July 1, 2019—September
9, 2019. Motion carried unanimously.
• A motion was made and seconded to create an Expanded Tourism Business Improvement
District that would better represent the area being served and have the Board of Gallatin County
Commissioners to be the Appointing Authority for this new district. Motion carried
unanimously.
In subsequent meetings,with City Staff, we have discussed that we would work with the City Attorney's
office to create a memo that would go out to all hoteliers explaining the sunset of the district and to
inform them of the City's intent to not levy an assessment for July 1, 2019—September 9, 2019.
We have also notified our Certified Public Accountant and Bank of such changes being made to the
Bozeman Tourism Business Improvement District.
Thank You on behalf of the Bozeman TBID for the City of Bozeman past 10 years of support and know
that revenues generated in the new district will be used to promote Bozeman.
